It’s funny how you see a picture and it brings memories for you. This one is just such a picture for me. It’s not such a happy memory either. You see, I have a sister which I never get to talk to much. We live in different continents and she’s about 8 years younger than I am. There’s about 2 sibblings between us. I really wanted to form a stronger relationship with this sister.
One time we talk on the phone. Most of our conversation involve her asking me for loans or gift. I don’t blame her. She’s not as well-off as I am, and I can understand the need to ask for money. Shoot, I’d probably do the same thing too if our situation were reversed.
One day, I was so stressed about something, I called her up to talk. In the middle of my tirade for sympathy, she said she’d gladly listen, but she’ll want some money for it. I think I might have overreacted, but I wasn’t in the mood for joke. It turned out she wasn’t joking, and that was kind of the last heart-to-heart we have. I still send her money, but I avoid talking with her. I don’t want to get into fights.
Have this happened to you?
I have never heard of such a “sisterly” relationship; nor such a friendship; or even a parent child relationship. Actually, it doesn’t seem like a relationship at all.

It’s really a shame because I would have liked something different. Some other kind of sisterly/bestfriend relationship. I guess sometimes, it’s just not possible.

I can understand! I have a difficult relationship with my sister too! We don’t talk too often but when we do it is mostly about her. I have stories like you – my computer ended up “missing” while my sister was watching my house with no sign of breaking…having to “reposess” her car when I got a loan for her…So I can relate!
I figure that God has blessed me by giving me friends who are like sisters.
So I am lucky in that aspect!
