I just found out that my mother is going out of town for a month, right across the Pacific Ocean. She’s going to attend my littlest sister’s graduation from Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her airline ticket, she bought it from Orbitz because they have the best deal. And no, Orbitz did not pay me to say that. I just always end up buying my tickets and other travel things with them.
You try it. Travelociy and Priceline have nothing on Orbitz. Anyways, I’m going to miss my mother, even though she’s not really leaving for almost two months yet. I wish I could go with my mother and see my sister too, but it’s not in my schedule. I can’t swing it.

I am sitting here wonderful when was my last crazy vacation. I realized it has been a while since we can do anything but crazy vacation. We have work schedule that does not allow much vacation time. About two years ago, we decided to see Missouri. The drive from our home is over 8 hours, and we have two days to drive there and back again.
First thing I did was rent a beautiful condo for one night, and rented a 15-sitter van for three days. We drove along highway 30 along the mini-Canyon of Arkansas, not to be confused with the Grand Canyon of Arizona. We drove most of the morning, and stretched the drive longer by stopping by every gas station and Wal-mart in between. When we finally arrived at the beautiful condo, we’re tired and fell asleep. After staying for 6 hours, we had to load every one for the trip home. We didn’t even get to inhale the fresh lake air of Table Rock lake in Missouri.
Next time, I’ll try Trusted Tours & Attractions. There’s many Things to do in Atlanta, and it sounds like an exciting next destination within driving distance. Link up to their newsletter right now and you could be the $150 itunes gift card winner. Maybe we’ll drive even further to Orlando for some sightseeing tours. They offer discounted tickets, so I can bring my sister and her family and still be able to afford the sights.

I have been reading, but I’m not so good at reviewing books I’ve finished reading. I need to start because I think it’s fun. I just get very self conscious. I have read halfway through my list. Actually, I only have to finish 1.5 more books and I’ll be done with my Challenge.
I’ve finished these books…and I need to write a review on them…soon. Yeah, I am/still am on Tara Janzen binge.

Years ago, I drove my sister to Los Angeles for her hearing. She was divorcing her husband. They have one child. She spends hours in the court house, and conferencing with her lawyers, I’m left with my children and hers while she’s away. I would spend the days around the city. I wish there was a Trusted Tours & Attractions sightseeing tours then. I could have signed up. It’s always more effecient when there’s guided tours. The experts are just that. They know a lot, and can make your days productive. I still have fun, but I missed a lot of attractions.
On the way home, we decided to drive via Las Vegas. They have Hoover Dam, and there’s the strip. Those are the only things I know to do in Las Vegas. We arrived in Las Vegas in early morning. That city truly never sleeps. There’s lots of people walking about like it’s the middle of the day. The strip is well-lighted. There’s so much decisions to be made about where to stay, will they allow our children (three total then) to room with us. I saw the wonderful water display at one of the hotels. We parked our van near a pharmacy and walked around a bit.
I know the first thing which comes to mind when I hear Las Vegas is gambling. But there are lots of things to do in Las Vegas. I know I would love to Lake Mead and Hoover Dam cruises. How spectacular to see these places up close. I’d like to go back to Las Vegas. I’m going to used Trusted Tours & Attractions for tickets because they offer discounted tickets to 23 cities in USA.
I think I’d feel more comfortable roaming the city on my own if I have a GPS. I’d never have to worry about getting lost. In fact, if you sign up for the Trusted Travels eNewsletter you can win a Handheld GPS! Offer ends Monday, April 30th, 2008.
